Conversation Club
Sundays 6:00pm to 7:30pm

The Conversation Club provides English language learners opportunities to practice their oral speaking skills with native English-speaking tutors in one-on one conversation.

Conversation Club meets every Sunday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. downstairs in the Fellowship Hall at Storrs Road Church of Christ. We begin with a half hour of group instruction using language learning games, pronunciation videos, or other language skill building activities. For the last hour of the meeting, language learners pair up with native-speaking English tutors for meaningful conversations. Discussions can be about any topic the paired participants choose or they can use a topic from News For You, an ESL newspaper provided by the Conversation Club.

In addition, we also provide adult supervised child care for families with younger children. They will play in the nursery room that has age appropriate toys for toddlers and for children to the age of 10. There is also a choice of children’s videos that have been prescreened for content suitability.

Community Outreach

Each year at Christmas, the congregation enjoys providing gifts and food to help needy families in the community.
